Mucous Retention Cyst in Oral Cavity

A mucous retention cyst, commonly known as mucocele, is a benign swelling that develops in the oral cavity due to blockage or rupture of minor salivary gland ducts. It usually appears as a soft, painless, fluid-filled swelling inside the mouth.

Though not dangerous, persistent or recurrent cysts often require surgical removal for complete cure.
